Post No. 835 and the Blog’s 7th Birthday

HomeschoolWays.com turns seven on August 4, 2020 – that’s tomorrow. This is post no. 835. As we look at these two milestones, we want to do something special for our readers. How about a series of broadcasts on Facebook Live?

Homeschool Pets

Our son is holding Thunder and our daughter is holding Smoky.

We will cover three themes, which summarize the bulk of your preparation to homeschool: the 3 Cs – confidence, connection, curriculum. Without confidence, nobody decides to take the education of her children into her hands. We will highlight ways in which you can build your confidence to homeschool.

Without connection to other homeschoolers and the outside world, most homeschool efforts fail. We will provide ideas for reaching out to your local area and the rest of the world, via the internet.

Homeschool Mom with Children

They are now in 7th and 5th grade respectively.

Without the proper curriculum, you will get discouraged and your children will get confused. But there are so many choices! How do we choose the right one? As we detail curriculum examples which have worked for us, you will feel more prepared to make a decision one way or another.

These broadcasts will be short, less than 10 minutes, so that you can watch them easily. The recordings will be saved to our Facebook page, for those who cannot see them live.

Happy 7th birthday to Homeschool Ways! We are grateful to God for sustaining us through seven years of homeschooling and blogging about it. And thank you to our readers, who have inspired us to keep going through this post, which is post #835.

  1. Congratulations on your 7th anniversary of your blog. This is my family’s 7th year of homeschooling and our son is a senior. I found your website on a search for a review of Apologia’s What in The World Can I Do. Thankful you wrote that. Have read part of an excerpt from Chapter 1 and thought it would be fine for high school, but needed confirmation. And, as in your suggestion, I probably will use as history spine as we are covering themes and figures from WWII era. Thank you so much and God bless you and your family.
