Weeks 12 and 13 – Done

Sorry about not posting last week. I forgot my laptop home on the day we went to co-op. When I sit there, I have more time to update the blog than at home, apparently. I just could not get a few minutes for my blog last week. We are all busy, right?

Teenager opens gifts

Our son opening gifts on his Sweet 16 birthday

We have homeschooled and gone hiking. Somewhere in there, our son turned 16. Such a special time to be a parent – when you child turns sweet 16. I could brag on my son for many, many minutes, so let me not even get started.

Suffice it to say we are very proud of the young man he is becoming. Together with God, my husband and I have produced a really good human being. His younger sister looks up to him and they are really good friends.

At co-op, he had a social called Flannels & Friends. The dress code was flannel shirt and jeans. Would you believe we did not have a flannel shirt in his wardrobe? He did not even know what flannel shirts looked like. Now he knows and he has one. That is why we socialize through co-op. Ha!

  1. Happy 16th birthday to him!
I understand not having a flannel shirt. That was also my situation when our church had a plaid shirt Sunday a few years ago: I realized I didn’t own a single plaid shirt. They planned that as part of some fun advent activities. I found a feminine plaid blouse that I liked, which is good because the church hasn’t planned that activity again, but I still like my shirt!

    • You make me feel better. 🙂 I do not own a flannel shirt myself because I do not like the look. Now you make me think… a feminine plaid blouse? I will have to google that one. 🙂
