TeenPact One-Day

If you want your child to learn about government, the political process, how bills become law, and similar topics, you might consider TeenPact Leadership Schools. They offer state classes in 41 states. The classes are taught with a Christian worldview.

For Tennessee, the next event happens on February 1-4, 2016. Monday-Thursday they teach students ages 13-19. For the 8-12 age group, they offer a One Day Class, on Friday, February 5, 2016, 10am-4pm. It all happens in Nashville, at the Capitol Building.

What you should know:

  • There is homework that must be completed before you get there.
  • They have a dress code everybody must follow.
  • If you apply through November, you receive 25% off.
  • They give refunds only if you cancel at least 14 days in advance.

I just signed up our son for the One-Day Class. Instead of paying $40, I paid only $30. They applied two discounts, $5 each. One discount was for signing up early for the One-Day Class, and the other was signing up through November, which is the month when the program’s founder, Tim Echols, was born.

We wondered if it might be a little too early, if we should wait until our daughter was eight, and so both could participate etc. But then we decided the program was geared for his age group and it should not be too difficult for him. Also, one parent could be at Adventure Science Center with our daughter and the other parent at the Capitol building with our son.

Maybe.

That’s the plan.

If the weather cooperates, if my husband does not have any emergencies at work, if… if… if…

You know how planning goes.

When we come back from it, I will let you know how it went.
