It is January 6, 2026. What are you reading? Do you have a reading plan for 2026? I don’t mean for the kids. For you. Do you have a reading list for yourself? As a homeschool mom, you are probably always looking for good books, just like me.
This year, I decided to do something different: read two books a month + two more titles. That’s a total of 26 books to fit with the year 2026.
I have read one book a week and it has been quite intense. In light of my decision to take is easier this year, I want to give myself two weeks to finish a book. Besides, I have more media to produce now what with the podcast and the YouTube channel.
So find what makes sense for you. One book a week? One book a forthnight? One book a month? One book a semester? One book a year? Every season is different for homeschool moms. No judgment here.
But I do want to encourage you to make a list. Put it in a place you look at daily. It’s a reminder that you care about yourself. Self-care includes reading. Every time you put the phone down (or any other screen) and you grab a physical book, you are doing yourself a favor. There is so much research about the advantages of reading physical books vs digital books.
Without further ado, here’s my list for 2026. Why not read along with me and tell me what you think? The following links are affiliate links. Thank you for your support!
- The Queen’s Code by Alison Armstrong
- Building a StoryBrand 2.0 by Donald Miller
- The Call of the Wild by Jack London
- Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger
- The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin
- Show Your Work! by Austin Kleon
I will stop here for now. That’s enough for the first three months. We will continue as we enter Q2.
Happy Reading!
